Tokyo Super Eco Town Project

With the aim of solving various problems of waste and creating a sound material-cycle society, we make use of the land possessed by TMG in the waterfront area and construct advanced and highly reliable waste treatment and recycling plants as part of national urban regeneration project (Tokyo Super Eco Town Project).
We started publicly inviting private companies in April 2002. As of July 2010, Nine plants are now running business in the Super Eco Town, including a food waste recycling plant, a gasification and melting power plant, a PCB waste disposal plant and others.
We also hold tours for Tokyo residents to visit such facilities to disseminate the outcomes of the project, raise public awareness of recycling, and publicize recycling technology. In FY2009, about 600 people participated in the tours.
